Wrap up

What else is there to say? Let's read that packaging again. The e2 has "Advanced titanium technology and construction..." According to Energizer, the battery does use titanium in some novel way. Energizer also has Lithium-based AA batteries (but no Lithium triple-A's) with claims of 5 times normal battery life, leading to plenty of confusion for AAA battery users. The e2 AAA's are regular Zinc-Manganese Dioxide alkalines, and as you now know, you're not getting 5x life. Sorry.

The second half of their claim promises "stronger, more powerful performance." The extra 10% life doesn't seem to be all that significant, and after looking at Energizer's own technical data, we're not sure what the big deal is with the AAA batteries. Energizer has a great set of details on their batteries online, and their site claims that the e2 AAA has a capacity of 1150mAh. Check the standard Energizer AAA stats, and guess what - they also have a capacity of 1150mAh. Whatever.

We gave you the goods early on so you wouldn't have to read this far, but we'll say it again. 10% longer life for 23% more cost. 'nuff said.
