CHICAGO, IL, April 24, 2002 - Red Mercury, LLC
today released a public beta of AcidImage™ 1.2. A free trial is available for
all who would like to help test it out. This is the first version of AcidImage
to run on non-color Palm OS® handhelds, such as the Palm m500 and Sony CLIE
T415. Support for Sony's NR-series Virtual Graffiti provides a full 320x480
viewing area for images. And, AcidImage 1.2 adds hardware-accelerated JPEG
decompression to speed up image viewing on Sony NR-series devices.
The beta is available now on Red Mercury's Web site.
Owners of non-color devices such as the Palm m500 and Sony
CLIE T415, and owners of Sony NR-series devices such as the NR70 and NR70V, are
invited to try out the beta and report on their experiences to
aibe@red-mercury.com.
AcidImage is a second-generation image viewing application
for Palm OS. Native-format JPEG, BMP, and GIF images can be viewed directly off
a Memory Card or Memory Stick without being converted to a proprietary format.
For backward compatibility, AcidImage will also view PictureGear Pocket and MGI
PhotoSuite images from RAM or from a memory card.
