e2 VS. ENERGIZER BATTERY LIFE TEST RESULTS

Red Mercury Labs Puts Them to the Test

Chicago, IL, September 11, 2000 - Red Mercury, LLC, a Palm OS™ game development company, today posted the results of the latest Red Mercury Labs battery performance test, comparing the new AAA Energizer e2 with standard AAA Energizer batteries.

The testing process was identical to Red Mercury Labs' Palm IIIc Power Test conducted earlier this year, allowing a direct comparison of the tests. The e2 vs. Energizer test gets to the bottom of the marketing claims and additional expense of Energizer's latest offering.

"The majority of Palm OS users rely on AAA batteries to protect their data," said Scott Corley, President of Red Mercury™, holding his battle-worn Palm III. "Unfortunately, most of the information available about batteries is pure marketing. We wanted to get these batteries into the lab to get some hard numbers, to see if the additional expense of the e2 buys you longer life, or if it only pays for the $100 million marketing campaign."

More Testing To Come

Corley mentioned that tests in progress, including a battle between Duracell and Energizer, would be posted to the Red Mercury site as soon as Red Mercury Labs completes the data analysis. Red Mercury Labs performs tests such as these for internal quality assurance testing of Red Mercury's retail products.
